Richard Webster has spent his career in creative pursuits, working as a professional musician with the National Symphony Orchestra for more than 30 years. His designs are influenced by the structure and rhythms of music, particularly jazz forms, and by Japanese furniture and the simple functionality of Shaker pieces.
