After a career in clinical neurology, Richard Foa began serious woodworking at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. Courses at Snow Farm, The John Campbell School, The Arrowmont School of Craft, The Appalachian Center for Craft and around the DC area have honed his artistic skills. His work has been shown in juried exhibitions sponsored by the Maryland Federation of Art, Maryland Hall, the Artful Dimensions Gallery of Fredericksburg and the Strathmore Mansion. He belongs to the Chesapeake Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners and continues to work on wooden boats at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
