About the JRAAbout_the_JRA.html

Floris Flam began making art quilts in 1986, soon after she first saw nontraditional quilts, inspired by their color and texture. She works improvisationally, using fabrics she dyes and paints to create abstract textile collages that reflect her interest in the built environment. She hopes viewers enjoy exploring the spaces she has created.  She also makes functional art, using her design and surface design skills to create small works suitable for gifts.  Her collaged card cases, hand-dyed napkins, and quilted bowls inspired by nature bring beauty to the useful objects in our lives.
