Eileen Doughty founded Doughty Designs in 1991 and has been creating commissioned work in the textile medium ever since. She was the Website Coordinator for the international membership association Studio Art Quilt Associates, in addition to other volunteer positions for SAQA. She has taught and lectured on various aspects of art quilts in several states, and has written numerous magazine articles on the subject. Her work is in private, public and corporate collections, including the “HeART of DC” in the John Wilson Building in Washington, DC, and Amazon Web Services in Herndon, Virginia, and has been exhibited on five continents. She is past president of the Potomac Fiber Arts guild, and a member (and past chairman) of the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery in the Torpedo Factory.
