Doris Ross grew up in Germany, and came to the USA to study and later work in Washington DC. Her fascination with glass became a serious creative pursuit in the new millennium at the Meltdown Glass Studio (DC) and the Kari Minnick Art Glass Studio in Silver Spring (MD). Her pieces are fused layers of glass, some with metal or organic elements. Her designs are often inspired by the glory and splendor of nature—its innumerable acts of random beauty!  She loves color—and uses it unabashedly.
