About the JRAAbout_the_JRA.html

Carol Hurwitch, always dancing, loves to carve whimsical lines and shapes that energize each other, while they run around the surface of a three-dimensional form. Her ceramics’ surfaces may hold bold black and blue-whites, be layered with a soda-fired orange flashing slip and glazes, or trap carbon selectively in the reduction kiln. Carol began her visual arts journey with clay in high school, continuing briefly at the Corcoran School of Art, and then finishing with a studio art degree in drawing at Peabody College for Teachers. Weaving together ideas from many journeys, it’s the musical drawing and carving of dancing lines into clay  that transports her back to center, and home.
